LARGE JARS
New themes develop rather slowly in my thoughts. In the beginning I coiled large jars of Finnish earthenware clay. Gradually I started to throw on a wheel utility articles, which I continually produce beside ceramic art.

MASKS

I also used Finnish earthenware clay for masks made of slabs and then fired using raku technique. I gave them a finishig touch with feathers of wild birds. Little later I started to use stoneware clays in big sculptures in voluted forms, with heights up to 170 cm. At that time I participated in courses which dealt with uncommon techniques in making ceramics.

FIRED HUTS

I started working with unconventional techniques by building big sculptures right on the ground. They were fired on the place of making burning wood inside them, the works thus functioning as their own kiln. I could enter the largest of them. The atmosphere in that dim and humid clay chamber was sedative and meditative.
